Harborough Explorer Scout Unit - November 2009
Chris came to one of our explorer weekly meetings and ran two taster sessions in our scout hut. I will admit I was a little sceptical at first but I can tell you it took no time at all before I had forgot my reservations and got stuck in. Chris obviously has a passion for his sport and he was a fun and enthusiastic teacher. It is challenge enough to even stand in front of 30 disapproving teenager. But to get them all off their backsides and learning something completely new I think is testament on its own. |

On behalf of all the explorer that took park I would like to thank Chris for introducing us to the world of fencing and recommend him to any group no matter what the age or ability to have some fun.

Chris Beadling came to the Harborough Scout hut Monday 16th November to teach harborough district explorer scout how to do fencing with Epees. It was reallly enjoyable and something I always wanted to do.
I had fun with the swords and the fencing outfit and I would love to do it again. It is something that everyone can enjoy.

Hinckley Concordia Theatre 15th to 18th October 2008
We are an amateur drama group who produce a number of shows throughout the year. For this challenging production we needed a duel to the death at the very end of the show between the two leading men.
We had no fencing experience whatsoever and so found Chris through Leicester Fencing Club. |

We arranged to get together one evening to start to put together the routine. Both I, as director, and the two actors involved were really impressed with Chris's abilities both as a fencing instructor and as a fight director. In just two hours he managed to teach the actors the basics that they needed to stay safe and look convincing, and to choreograph the first three quarters of the fight. The time that he took to help us was the icing on the cake in terms of the production. It enabled myself and the actors to finish the scene using the skills he had taught us during that evening and he was then kind enough to come back to the theatre and watch a technical rehearsal to put the final polish into the action. He really did get into the roles picking up on characters incredibly quickly and without much preparation time or information from myself.
I have nothing but praise for Chris's attitude and passion towards his sport. Without his help the production wouldn't have been half the show it was, and it is only thanks to his support and professionalism that we were able to end the show so dramatically.
We have had nothing but extremely positive feedback from everyone involved and from our audiences. No one was expecting such a dramatic fight scene and it was what the audience went away talking about. I am so glad that Chris agreed to help us out and would jump at the chance to work with him again.

Julie Forest Testimonial
Chris Beadling has been my fencing coach for over two years and has successfully taken me from a complete beginner to Grade 3.
I have always found his enthusiasm infectious and have valued his patience. He has been unfailingly encouraging and makes sessions enjoyable. He is demanding and has high standards for himself and his students. |

His obvious passion for fencing, and his determination to bring the sport to as many people as possible is clear. I have seen him coach very young beginners as well as adult fencers, and he adapts his coaching to each of them.
I would recommend Chris with confidence; if he can make a fencer out of me, then he can do it for anyone!

Will James – Testimonial
As a newcomer to the fencing club it was very apparent that Chris was particularly committed and enthusiastic about fencing. Every week Chris turns up without fail and for three hours educates and enthrals large groups of fencers from the youngest children right through to the veterans.
As my coach it soon became clear that Chris also takes his work very seriously when my poor excuses for being unfit fell on deaf ears. |

I am very pleased to say that after a few months, Chris' coaching has not only improved my fitness but also my ability and I even enjoy a little success at regional competitions – I am happy to give Chris the credit for this.
I tried fencing as a young child and now after a short break, of around 20 years, it has become something that I really look forward to and Chris has added a little focus which makes it all the more rewarding.
Anyone wanting to test the water, have individual coaching sessions or who needs someone to launch or develop a group would do well to employ Chris' services.
